AP Rural Fellows is an annual competitive grant program that provides AP Summer Institute scholarships for teachers serving in rural areas of the country. The $1,500 scholarships cover APSI tuition. Remaining funds, after the APSI has been paid, will be sent to the teacher to be applied toward travel and expenses.
- Plan to teach an AP course in the 2020-21 academic year
- Teach in a high school that is classified as "rural" by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and at which at least 50% of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch (in 2020, all islands of Hawaii, except Oahu, will be considered “rural” regardless of the NCES data)
- Not have received a College Board APSI scholarship for the same subject within the last 3 years
